Healthy eating can be confusing! I know this first hand. It took me eighteen years to overcome my war with food that saw me traipsing around in the painful land of eating disorders like a lost puppy.
Good food, bad food, this will make me fat, if I eat this I’ll be a failure, guilt, guilt, guilt and more guilt! Urgggghhhhhh!
A couple of years ago, it dawned on me what the real purpose of food was for and my battle came to an end…thank goodness. I realised that hunger is natural; that it’s the universes way of saying, “Go nourish yourself so you can be awesome!”
With this realisation, I fell in love with food (“real food” that is). I had a new sense of wonder and appreciation for it, and I became ridiculously grateful for the energy and strength it was giving me with every mouthful.
And I know you can all do the same too. Learning to eat healthy, to love your bodies and to practise kindness with yourself, is a learnt habit. I believe that we should teach children, from a very young age, the importance of healthy food, how to fall in love with it, and how to fall in love with themselves.
95% of our actions as an adult, by the age of 35, are just conditioned responses and habits we’ve programmed ourselves to act from. And sadly, 80% of our thoughts by this age, are negative. So what if we took the time and effort to train our youth to have healthy habits, to fall in love with “real food”, and to love themselves? Just imagine the heights of unlimited potential they could climb to?
So to help this happen, I’ve created a four part video series to help family’s eat healthy food, learn to chose healthy food and learn to create healthy eating habits. Plus there’s free cook books and resources for you to download along the way.
