“Jen!” Bumi suddenly exclaimed as he stood on his big toe and did a pirouette of excitement. “Why don’t we jump in my time machine and head back to the Paleolithic age and visit my friend Marty Mammoth?”
“Woohoo,” Jen replied. “That’s the best idea you’ve had since the time you suggested we go skateboarding down the Pyramids of Egypt. Actually come to think of it, that wasn’t a good idea at all. It wasn’t fun running from the Arab police as they chased us off, and I really hurt my nose when I jumped off the bottom stones of the Great Pyramid and landed face first in the butt of a camel.”
Bumi laughed uncontrollably. “That was so funny,” he snorted.
“OK, let’s go visit Mary Mammoth back in the paleolithic era. There were no such things as police and Great Pyramids then so we should be safe,” Jen answered.
Jen and Bumi jumped in the time machine, and quicker then you can say “Paleo-stega-saurus-eating-zucchini-on-mars”, they had time travelled to 40,00 0 years ago.
“Hi Marty,” Bumi and Jen said as they landed right in front of the mammoth. He was lying on the ground looking quite sad.
“What’s wrong Marty?” Jen asked. “Why the long trunk?”
“I’m so big. And I’ve got this big long trunk that looks like a python on my face. And these big tusks, they’re so…so…so…spikey. None of the other animals look like me. They’re cuter and smaller and faster and so much less spikey-er. I’m so different. How can I ever feel good about myself when I’m so different?” Marty mumbled.
Bumi walked over to Marty and leaned up against his tusk. He looked him right in the eye and said:

“Hey,” Jen said, “that sounds like a Christina Aguilera song Bumi.”
“That’s because it is!” Bumi replied. “I learnt it yesterday while you were busy teaching the dog to play the clarinet. Now take it away stars,” Bumi sung out as he leaped onto Marty’s head, arms wide open as if summoning the skies.
And with that, the bright sunny day transformed into night and a million stars shone like glitter in the sky. They gathered into a large formation in the shape of Christina Aguilera and sung the rest of the song for Bumi, Jen and Marty.
