I love the Tao…just saying! I’ve read from this book (which some say is the wisest book ever written) practically every day for the last three years. But why on earth am I bringing up this topic on a Paleo website?

Well…

The Tao reminds me of the Paleo/Primal way of life.

So here’s my first post decoding The Tao from a paleo-sophical point of view.

Enjoy.

Three years ago I saw a mackerel driving a Ferrari down my street.

Three years ago I invited a blue caterpillar in for a cup of tea.

Three years ago I picked up a book called the “Tao of Winnie the Pooh.”

Three years ago, because of these events, but namely because of the book, a transformation of my mind, of my soul and of my life begun to take place.

What is The Tao?

The Tao is an ancient Chinese book of 81 verses written by a man named Lao Tzu 2,500 years ago. But it is much more than a book, it is an energy that unifies the world.

The Tao is the blue sky that’s always waiting patiently when grey clouds roll in.

The Tao is the water in your ice, waiting to flow freely with the warmth of your exquisiteness.

The Tao is a playground, always there ready for the fun to begin.

The Tao is a bottomless well of love.

The Tao is a pathway. It’s a pathway quite similar to The Yellow Brick Road in The Wizard of Oz. Although it’s not necessarily yellow, it’s not necessarily made of bricks and you don’t necessarily need to dance with munchkins prior to starting on it. It does however, always lead you back home.

The Tao is the way. It’s the way to your natural home. Your natural home is that place inside of you where love, laughter, joy, kindness and total amazing-ness reside, always. When skies are grey, when the world weighs heavy on your shoulders, when fire breathing wild cats are chasing you round a gum tree, the Tao is that strength inside of you that keeps you moving forward. It is the beauty within. It is your true essence.

Feelings of love, joy, happiness and amazingness are actually our natural state of being. They are our birthright and they are the only truth. Sadly however, over the course of our upbringing, we develop habits of mind that trick us into creating a false world of “not enough’s”. This world leads to a life governed by feelings of anxiety, stress and fear, creating road-blocks to our extraordinary, to The Tao.

So what the bejeckles does all this Tao stuff have to do with Paleo/Primal living?

Awesome question!

Well we also have another natural state of being, and that’s one of health and vitality!

However, over the course of human evolution, we have developed compromised standards of farming and food manufacturing and fake foods have taken over our plates! The natural goodness in our food has been taken hostage by preservatives, additives, schmuckatives and hoozatives! It’s bonkers I tell ya! This has lead to an outrageously sad state of global health issues related to both physical and mental illnesses that is far from in line with our natural state of being.

A Paleo/primal lifestylye, to me, is the Tao of the food world! It’s a Yelow Brick Road to an Emerald City of health (the city is Emerald by the way because all the buildings are made of kale, spinach, cucumber and cos lettuce). It’s a return to a natural way of eating that keeps us vital and strong.

The Tao is the way to our inner truth, our inner spectacularity.

And Paleo/Primal living is the way back to our inner vitality and health.

The Bloody End…almost…
